Let’s talk java.
Many of us busy bees drink a lot of it to keep us powering through the day. I love coffee in the morning, on cafe dates with friends, as a pre workout, while I’m bloggin’ & even love having decaf when I unwind at the end of a crazy day. 90% of us who love coffee, also love cream & sugar. I’ve started to turn away from store bought creamers, including my favorite dairy free one. I’m not saying these are bad in moderation, but after researching more about what’s in my store bought creamer (artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, corn syrup, added sugars, hydrogenated oils & thickeners), I’ve been finding other ways to flavor my coffee that my body & taste buds are happy with! I’ve been experimenting with different spices & using almond milk/coconut milk for different flavors. I also have been using Stevia to sweeten my coffee over real sugar as Stevia does not spike your blood sugar. A full list of my favorite coffee recipes are below!
Sweet & Simple Vanilla
(my favorite)
1 cup coffee
1/4c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 packet of stevia/truvia
Mocha Dream
1 cup coffee
1/4c unsweetened vanilla or chocolate almond milk (use coconut for a tropical flavor!)
1tbsp cacao powder
1 packet stevia/truvia
Cinnamon Bun
1 cup coffee
1/4c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tsp cacao powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 packet stevia/truvia
Sweet Vanilla Maple
1 cup coffee
2 tsp pure maple syrup
1/4c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2tsp pure vanilla extract
1 packet of stevia/truvia
Add a scoop of protein powder & blend one frozen banana with a any recipe & you have a healthy snack!
